TEDxUniversityofSalford a huge success
The second edition of TEDxUniversityofSalford was held on Saturday 18 June to a full house of 100 attendees and a further 1,319 registered to watch online.
The theme of this year’s event was Rejuvenation and featured 10 speakers from a variety of disciplines.
Four speakers were selected from each of the schools within the University – Prof. Joe Sweeney, Dr Paul Comfort, Claire-Marie Boggiano and Dr. Toni Sant. The remaining 6 speakers included a combination of speakers from the Alumni and PGR teams while 4 were external speakers.
The event was organised by a student-led team comprising students from the PhD, MSc and undergraduate levels of study, alongside some alumni of the University. The hosts of the event were Prof. Andy Miah and Anna-Maria White.
David Junior Gilbert, organiser of the event, said: “While we have received incredible feedback from attendees on the success of this event, our deepest appreciation goes to the management of the University, the Doctoral school and the alumni office for their indispensable support.
“Special thanks to the speakers who seamlessly delivered their talks with gripping expertise. We look forward to the impact and engagement this event and future events will generate for the University.”
