All our fairs offer you the opportunity to start a recruitment journey with us, and to promote your graduate roles and internships to our high calibre candidates. Engaging with representatives from the world of work inspires our students and provides them with insight and inspiration to help them develop their career ambitions.

Careers Fairs 2024/2025
Careers Fairs play an important role in highlighting a whole range of employment opportunities. They also provide a direct link to employers that are offering employment and seeking graduates. We are currently planning for our 2024/25 Careers Fairs - the dates, locations and times shown below are all to be confirmed.

Information for employers:
These events will be aimed at students from all year groups looking for placements, summer jobs/internships, or course-related part-time work. Also open to graduates.

Roles: Placements, summer jobs/internships, graduate schemes, graduate level roles or course-related part-time work.
Communication with students: You can let us know on a booking form which students you want to meet; year groups, relevant courses etc. we can then target advertisements to these students ahead of the fair.
Sponsoring our Careers Fairs: A £500 + VAT sponsorship for the fair includes:

As well as organising Careers Fairs, the University of Salford has a free to use online jobs portal for employers, which gains more than 22,000 views each year.
Jobs can be added throughout the year, for part-time work, placements and graduate level vacancies, either local or nationwide.

Funded internships and employability programmes
Santander Universities Funding 2023-24
The programme provides final year students and those who have graduated within the last three years with an opportunity to undertake a paid internship or work experience with a local business or organisation. Host employers can elect to use the Santander Universities funding to fully fund or part fund an internship or work experience opportunity. The available funding will be no more than £1,000 per student or graduate and who would be paid at no less than the current Real Living Wage [RLW] of £12.00.
Taking full advantage of the funding the internship or work experience will therefore be no less than 83 hours with interns working no more than 35 hours in any working week. Employers wishing to host a student or graduate can engage them for a longer period provided they make no less than an equal contribution and their wage i.e. £1,000 and ensure that they are paid at the RLW.
Host employers can be from any sector and will be reimbursed up to £1,000 whether they chose to part fund or fully fund the employment. Any funding provided by the University will be paid based on the actual number of hours worked. The rate of pay is set at £12.00 per hour which is the current [as of October 2023] Real Living Wage.
Programme basics
- Graduates will be paid no less than the Real Living Wage rate of pay £12.00ph
- Host employers can use the funding to fully fund or part fund the employment opportunity
- Maximum 83 hours working fully funded
- Maximum 166 hours working 50% co-funded
- Total funding provided will not exceed £1,000.00
- Eligible to final year Students or Graduates from within the last 3 years
- Open to SME’s (Small / medium Enterprises)
- Funding paid retrospectively on receipt of invoice
- Funding payment not subject to VAT
- One student/ graduate per organisation
Funding for this programme is limited and will be allocated once a student or graduate has agreed to commence an internship or work experience opportunity and a start date is confirmed.
Employers wishing to participate in any Santander Universities-funded opportunities must supply company information and current bank details. They must also supply specific information detailing the work to be undertaken by the student or graduate. This information will be in the form of a Learning Agreement. The employing organisation and intern will also be asked to provide a suitable evaluation at the end of the programme.
Please note: Employers will not be paid until they have provided the necessary information to be set up as an official supplier to the University of Salford.
