With computer suites for your digital design work, and workshops packed with high-specification equipment, including laser cutters and 3D printers, we’ve created the perfect environment to bring your design ideas to life.
'Crits' and live briefs
We use our close industry links to get you involved in live briefs and site visits. We also invite industry to help give you a taste of professional critiques - or 'crits'. as our students call them.
Often delivered in small groups, this immersive way of learning is crucial when studying architecture. Not only do they give you a taste of the real-world role of an architect, they are also a great way to build your confidence, help you evolve your ideas and defend your design decisions.
Practical Workshops
Technical design skills are an essential attribute for every aspiring architect.
During your studies, a series of design workshops will introduce you to the concept and techniques of drawing, modelling and alternative forms of representations of architectural design. We will develop your ability to interpret and produce 2-D and 3-D architectural representations and digital and physical models.
SELF-DIRECTED STUDY
Take control of your own learning. Our Clifford Whitworth Library has physical and virtual resources to support your architecture studies. This modern learning space includes computing suites and multimedia libraries, with access to journals, databases, and software.
With an onsite cafe, breakout areas, comfy chairs and 24-hour access, it is the perfect place for writing up tutorial notes and researching assignments - day or night!
