Our academics often deliver lectures in small groups, and this immersive way of learning is crucial when studying architecture. You’ll have the opportunity to ask questions to our expert team who provide you with the theoretical knowledge you need to evolve your design ideas into life.
Create
Drawing on our industry-focused approach, we’ve created a series of specialist study zones that can be repurposed for specific activities.
The intelligent and flexible design reflects the studio culture that many architectural professionals experience in their careers. You can become familiar with this work approach, as you develop your ideas during practical sessions and in your own time.
The new SEE Building also gives us the opportunity to bring together our whole architecture suite under one roof and offer specialist zones for Architectural Design Technology and our postgraduate MArch students.
Collaborate
We’re passionate about building the next generation of architects, so you’ll develop the essential technical, practical, and theoretical skills in our studio-based learning environment.
Collaboration is key to what we do, so our industry-informed curriculums are carefully designed so that you can build transferrable skills that will support you throughout your career. Using this approach, you’ll find our architecture courses packed with integrated activities featuring individual and collaborative projects and practical workshops.
Make
Using technology to create designs is an essential attribute for every aspiring architect. During your studies, we have a series of dedicated workshops to introduce you to the concepts and techniques of drawing, modelling, and alternative forms of representations.
Your student experience has become even better because you’ll have access to our Morson Maker Space in the new SEE building consisting of computer suites for your digital design work, packed with high-specification equipment including laser cutters and 3D printers.
INDUSTRY COLLABORATION
Our academic staff also draw on close industry partnerships to give you a taste of professional critiques and get you involved in live briefs. We put industry collaboration at the heart of studying at Salford, so you can network and work on local architectural projects that will support your knowledge and skill progression.
We have seminars and critics in these spaces, and some of them can be group tutorial-based working with other students together with a member of staff.
