Why study a Sport Rehabilitation Degree

Lizzi's Story

Why Salford?

I knew a couple of people who had attended the University of Salford, and I quickly found out that it was one of the best universities for Sport Rehabilitation

The University is very supportive. Because we have a close relationship with the lecturers due to smaller class sizes, it was always made clear that whenever we needed extra assistance, we could contact them.

Why study Sport Rehabilitation?

I’ve always been interested in the body, health, and learning new things. I have always been very sporty too, so this course was right up my street in terms of the specialism it offers.

The lecturers made the course for me. Unlike other courses, sport rehabilitation students have a close relationship with the lecturers, which made learning easier because they were always available to support us and go through the content at a deeper level. The balance between practical work, placements, and sit-down learning is very effective.

What can I do with a Sport Rehabilitation degree?

I have taken part in numerous volunteering and placement opportunities as part of this course, including:

  • Stockport County FC
  • The University's Sport Rehabilitation Clinic
  • Numerous marathons
  • Sedgley Park RUFC
  • Toulouse Rugby League
  • Wigan Warriors
  • Sale Sharks

After graduation, I plan to go with the flow. I have had quite a few experiences so far, which I have actively sought out. This has strengthened my skill set and enhanced my knowledge. My goal is to gain experience in as many fields of the industry as possible, which will help me secure where I want to end up. Sometimes opportunities come to you at the most unexpected times!
