Sara Govias
Sara Govias is an actor from Chennai, India, where she acted in theatre productions of various formats from pantomimes, musicals, and street plays.
Sara carried on her passion and graduated with a BA triple major in Western Theatre, English, and Psychology from Christ (Deemed to be) University Bangalore, India – where she explored writing, directing, and acting. During her BA, she was selected along with other actors from her course to be an exchange student at Baylor University, Texas, where she was briefly trained in vocals, dancing such as tap and two step, and acting.
She is fluent in English, Tamil and Hindi with a rich background in Indian Theatre, having completed her first level of training in RASA from the Natyashastra, one of the oldest recorded forms of acting techniques in the world. Her passion for acting and psychology led her to conduct an acting therapy workshop to improve the livelihood of the older generation living in old age homes in India.
During her time at the University of Salford she has attended Salsa classes, a Stage Combat workshop, has voiced animated characters in collaboration with an animator for his short film, and has also acted in the Motion Capture studio for a video game prototype. She has acted in several student films and her performance in one was displayed on The Cube in the MediaCity campus.
