Asian Media Awards - case studies
The University of Salford has educated some of the finest young Asian talent to enter the UK’s creative industries over the last few decades.
From fronting the social media channels for Manchester United to penning articles for the BBC, the work of our Asian graduates has been seen by millions of people around the world.
Here, we showcase the stories of four Asian graduates that have come through our creative programmes during our ten-year partnership with the Asian Media Awards.
- Amber Haque is an award-winning journalist, documentary filmmaker and presenter who graduated from our MA/PgDip Journalism programme in 2015.
- Kaya Aftab is a journalist and producer at the BBC who graduated from our BA Journalism with English programme in 2017.
- Neha Navekar is a freelance sports and entertainment presenter who graduated from our BA Television and Radio Production programme in 2020.
- Priya Matharu is a radio producer and presenter who graduated from our (BA) Broadcast Journalism programme in 2019.
