Biography

Vicky is a qualified occupational therapist and has worked with adults and children in the NHS and in independent practice. She has specialised in developmental paediatrics with a special interest in typical and atypical child development and has worked in special schools, mainstream schools and child development centres. She established her own occupational therapy practice assessing and providing consultation for children with special educational needs. She has also trained in sensory integration to an advanced level and has an interest in sensory processing disorders. She gained an M Ed in Educational Psychology from the University of Manchester and developed a research interest in handwriting in children with developmental disorders. She then gained a PhD scholarship at the University of Leeds researching children with developmental coordination disorder. Vicky also teaches on the BSc and MSc programmes for occupational therapy and enjoys supporting students to develop their potential. She also supervises post graduate students to undertake research degrees.
