Biography
Vahid Vahidinasab is a Professor and Chair in Sustainability at Salford Business School, University of Salford, Manchester, UK. He has more than two decades of experience in academia and industry of the UK and internationally in research, teaching and leadership and is a committed volunteer for professional organizations. His passion is to contribute to the development of self-sustaining communities while supporting people's empowerment to face its challenges. Vahid’s research is future focused and aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
He has a remarkable record of attracting significant external funds and effectively managing large-scale industrial projects, with extensive involvement in large and complex international projects funded by Horizon Europe, EU H2020, EPSRC and UKRI.
Vahid is the Vice Chair of UK and Ireland IEEE Industry Applications Society, a Senior Member of the IEEE, and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Springer Smart Grids and Sustainable Energy, an Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, and Subject Editor of IET Smart Grid as well as IET Generation, Transmission, and Distribution for microgrids. He is the recipient of the Vice-Chancellor Research Excellence Award and the IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Chapter Outstanding Engineer Award in 2023.
