Biography
I am a PhD candidate at the University of Salford and currently working as a lecturer (hourly paid), teaching at BA and MA levels in Television, Films, and Production Management. My research focuses on the industry practices of China's documentary co-productions, examining how these collaborations have developed into a unique media industry. It explores how various political, economic, and cultural forces have influenced the production, distribution, and consumption of co-production documentaries and their roles in shaping China's global media presence. I am also an Executive Committee member of the British Association of Film, Television and Screen Studies (BAFTSS).
With an extensive career in TV and Performance Arts, I have worked in various roles, including researcher, producer, and director, creating specialist factual and documentaries for the UK and international markets. Projects I worked on have accumulated credits from major international broadcasters, such as Discovery, National Geographic, History, Smithsonian Channel, CCTV, iQiyi, and Bilibili.
