Biography
As the Programme Lead for the Nursing Associate apprenticeship, I am responsible for the academic leadership, management and curriculum delivery of the programme. I deal with curriculum planning and delivery to driving teaching quality and compliance forward. I lead a dedicated team of Clinical Educators who are fully committed to helping apprentices further their knowledge, achieve their goals and embed their social responsibility in everything that they do. My aim is to ensure the programme provides apprentices with the required knowledge, skills, and behaviours they need to meet the Nursing Associate Foundation Degree Apprenticeship and the Nursing and Midwifery Council Nursing Associate Standards.
I joined the University of Salford in 2018 to support their pioneering team with the innovative Nursing Associate Higher Apprenticeship. In 2020 I was awarded the University Link Tutor of the Year award in recognition of contributions and commitment to the Nursing Associate Degree Apprenticeship "…she believed in me when I have been at my lowest with her caring nature and support …"
I began my nursing career in 1989 in Erlenbach am Main, Germany before moving to the UK in 1997. I have extensive experience in acute medical and cardiology nursing both within and outside the National Health Service. I have worked in Higher Education since 2018, have a MA in Education and teaching qualifications.
