Biography

Mohammad is a Professionally Certified Accountant, a lecturer in Accounting & Finance at the UoS / SBS since 2015, External Examiner, and has been a programme leader for MSc Accounting & Finance (2017- present), He graduated from the Alliance Manchester Business School in 2004. Before joining Salford, he gained a valuable international consultancy and project management experience in accounting and auditing reform (2012 -2015).

Areas of Research

Dr. Albahloul research focuses on the international characteristics of accounting profession, corporate governance, auditing and accounting education. He has a extensive record with over 25 publications, including ABS-listed journals. Additionally. He has good and long experience in supervising MSc and PhD candidates, and supported 10 PhD students to completion at Salford Business School.

As an International Consultant in Accounting and Auditing, completed the following projects (2012-2015):
1. Development of a profession and education integrated framework for Albanian universities and Albanian professional bodies (programmes and modules specification)
2. Component Three of the Albanian Financial Reporting Enhancement Project: “Strengthening the Auditing Oversight System”. My responsibility has been to manage all activities including building capacity training, and to contribute to the development of all technical deliverables and toolkits. Professional assistance has included quality assurance, investigation and discipline, qualification, registration, auditing standards and ethics, and CPD. This consultancy has been provided to Public Oversight Board and Audit Chamber in Albania.
3. Component Four of the Albanian Financial Reporting Enhancement Project: “Improving Accounting and Auditing Curricula for University Education and Professional Certification”. My responsibility has been to manage all activities including building capacity training, and to contribute to the assessment of current education and certification systems, developing and suggesting a sustainable educational and professional framework based on the requirements of the EU directives and International Education Standards (IESs).
4. Development of Mining Tax Audit Manual (Mongolian Tax Authorities), technical toolkit.
5. Developing comprehensive online toolkit for the Asian Pacific Region programme of members Continuous Professional Development.

Developing teaching quality, by aligning T&L activities with the current University /Business School priorities to realize an increased students’ satisfaction which positively impact students’ number.

Rigorous redesign teaching materials and assessment strategies have led to excellent engagement of students, examples of assessment strategies implemented that demonstrated a high level of engagement and achievement, where the submission rates and pass rates were near to 95%..
