Biography
Maziar Nezhad is Professor of Nanophotonics and Microsystems Engineering at the University of Salford's School of Science, Engineering, and Environment. His research focuses on the development of nanophotonic devices, microscale systems and nanofabrication techniques, particularly in areas such as silicon photonics, microelectromechanical systems (MEMS), and compound semiconductors . Prior to joining Salford, Prof. Nezhad held academic and research positions at Bangor University, RWTH Aachen University, and the University of California, San Diego (UCSD). During his time at Bangor University, he was awarded an EPSRC/UKRI Fellowship to develop new microrobot technologies powered by light. Other highlights of his research include contributions in diamond photonic devices, plasmonics and III-V metal-cavity nanolasers.
