Biography
My principal areas of interest include connecting people, removing barriers to inclusion, and looking at the benefits of housing design on ageing well. I have a degree in Gerontology from McMaster University in Canada which I achieved while being a caregiver to my father during his stages of dementia. This led to an interest in how housing can help people with dementia live better for longer. My employment history includes developing and managing the day to day running of purpose-built housing for memory loss for a leader in the social housing sector. The introduction to social housing led to working with older people in mixed age communities and their day-to-day challenges to living well.
