Biography

Kirstie joined the University of Salford in 2024 as a Lecturer in Psychology (Forensic) teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and has over 14 years’ experience working in different lead HE roles.
Kirstie is an Associate Fellow and Chartered member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and work both nationally and internationally with them forming part of the accreditation teams as a member of the BPS Undergraduate Education Committee where she engages in both paper-based programme reviews and in partnership visits to universities across the UK to support the accreditation process.
Kirstie’s dissertation and postgraduate research examined neurological response to differing visual stimuli such as violent, pornographic, and gory content that built upon previous research around aggressive behaviour and the effects of videogame violence. She is active in research and currently has several projects underway inclusive of a collaborative project involving charity and institutional Stakeholders (i.e., Police forces, Victim Support, the Home Office & Cabinet Office) to gain a better understanding around sexual harassment and consent in our online environments and applications.
