Biography
Beth McCann is a lecturer in screenwriting and the programme leader of the MA Film Production at The University of Salford.
Beth is the founder of Scriptwriting North, a hub for new, emerging and professional writers. As a script consultant and writing coach she has supported 100’s of writers to develop their craft to tell their stories. She has worked with a range of organisations including BBCWriters, Northwest Vision and Media, BFI Film Hub North and companies looking for ways to better communicate their narratives. She also produced award-winning short films. Beth’s passion lies in storytelling and championing new voices. Her research is in film to TV adaptations and the challenges of self-adaptation.
