Biography
I am a journalist, broadcaster and lecturer with three decades' experience with BBC News and ITV. I have been chosen as the voice of some of BBC radio's flagship news programmes such as Radio 1 'Newsbeat', Radio 5 Live ‘Breakfast’ and 'The Report' on Radio 4.
As a reporter, I specialise in investigative journalism and mobile film-making and using creative production techniques to bring stories to life. I am a regular presenter and reporter for ITV Granada Reports.
As a lecturer, I use my experience and continuing role in broadcast newsrooms to engage and inform the next generation of journalists.
Industry engagement is at the heart of my teaching. I have used my experience and continuing role in broadcast newsrooms to engage and inform our journalism students.
