How to apply
If you are interested in applying to study at Salford and you are from overseas, you should read the information on this page carefully.

Postgraduate Taught
For most of our courses, you’ll need to complete our online application form. Search our list of available courses to find the programme you are interested in and click Apply Now. Our courses are very popular, so you should check this page regularly for updates on what is available for the intake of your choice.
If you have your supporting information ready (for example personal statement and transcripts), the form should take 20 minutes to complete. If you don’t have these documents to hand you can save your application and come back to it later. MA Social Work
You will need to submit your applications through UCAS.
Post-qualifying health and social care courses (single modules) – self funded
To apply for these courses please complete either our application form for Level Five And Six or Level Seven and email to applications@salford.ac.uk.
Applied Social Work Practice (CPD) or single module
To apply, please download our Postgraduate Application Form and Agency Sponsorship Form and email it to applications@salford.ac.uk.

Undergraduate
You will need to submit your application to us through UCAS. UCAS is an online application system that allows you to apply for up to five courses. This could be five courses at the University of Salford, or five courses at different institutions.
Search our list of available courses to find the programme you are interested in and make a note of the UCAS Course Code at the bottom of the page. You can also search for courses in UCAS when making your application.
Ensure that you choose the correct course when submitting your application and that you clearly enter the University of Salford’s institution code. Our institution code is ‘S03’.
Applications to the BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies (top-up) are made directly to the University via our online application form. Visit our guidance page for details of how to use the online application form.

International Foundation Year
The International Foundation Year will help you get onto a bachelor’s degree if you do not have the right qualifications to do so yet. We offer multiple pathways onto our undergraduate courses, and before you apply you should search our list of available courses to find the course you are interested in.

If you don’t have these documents to hand you can save your application and come back to it later. Postgraduate Research
A research degree offers you the chance to shape your own learning by researching a specific topic you are passionate about. The length and structure of a research degree depends on the pathway and chosen course. Read our guide for information about the different options available. Pre-sessional English
The University of Salford offers a British Council accredited Pre-sessional English course to help you improve your English language skills to study for a postgraduate or undergraduate degree at the University of Salford.
To apply for this course, you will need to complete our online application form. If you have your supporting information ready (for example your passport and transcripts) the form should take 20 minutes to complete. If you don’t have these documents to hand you can save your application and come back to it later. English language requirements
All our courses are taught and assessed in English, so we want to make sure you have the language skills you need to succeed from the start. As such, we ask all of our international students to demonstrate a level of English proficiency. English language requirements are shown on individual course pages. The course pages show the requirement as IELTS, however, a full range of the qualifications we accept can be found below.

If you've already submitted your application, you can find out more about getting your offer, visas, accommodation and more by visiting I've applied what's next.
When will I get a decision on my application?
We try to make a decision on your application within ten working days, although sometimes it can take longer, particularly during busy periods.
If you applied to an International Foundation year, postgraduate, or Pre-sessional English course we will notify you of the outcome by email, so please ensure that the email address you provide is valid and current. If successful, you will receive a letter outlining our Terms and Conditions, and details of any conditions that you are expected to meet before you can register.
If you applied to an undergraduate course or through UCAS, we will notify you of the outcome through the UCAS Hub. UCAS will usually send you a text or email to let you know of any changes.
