Today we announce the winners of our 2024 University of Salford Alumni Achievement Awards in a glittering ceremony at The Alchemist in MediaCity.

The event will be hosted by our Chancellor Lucy Meacock and will recognise the impact our graduates are having in the real world of work, business and politics.

They will put the spotlight on the people who are driving innovation in their respective fields, from grassroots healthcare, to sustainable construction and the visual arts.

We are delighted to honour Baroness Barbara Keeley with our Lifetime Achievement Award. She studied a BA in Politics and Contemporary History at University of Salford and graduated in 1994 from the School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology (SAMCT).

Baroness Keeley made history as the first female MP for Worsley, serving five terms and holding multiple Ministerial roles including Shadow Cabinet Minister for Social Care and Mental Health. With a career spanning community regeneration, IT and politics, she was appointed to the House of Lords in 2024 to mark a lifetime of distinguished contributions.

Also being honoured today is Andrew Reynolds who scoops our Alumni Excellence Award as  Changemaker in Environmental Sustainability. Andrew studied at the School of Science Engineering and Environment, graduating in 1996 with a BSc Quantity Surveying, Class of 1996.
