Categories: Research

On Wednesday 30 October 2024, the University of Salford hosted a Collaborative Research and Development (R&D) Networking Breakfast, welcoming over 30 businesses from a range of sectors across the North West. Held in the Old Fire Station’s Council Chamber, the event emphasised the University’s commitment to fostering innovation and growth through industry collaboration. It provided businesses with insights into how they can partner with Salford to embed new knowledge and capabilities to accelerate their growth.

In addition to the presentations from Salford, a number of guest speakers were also invited to present at the event, with talks from Dr Imrana Mushtaq who outlined Innovate UK’s role in the R&D process, as well as Chris Cunnane from RDS who advised how businesses can claim back tax credits on their R&D investments as part of a session on the available funding streams.

Konstantinos Zeimpekis, Lead Data Scientist from the Vue Group, also shared invaluable insights into their Knowledge Transfer Partnership in collaboration with the University's Data Science and AI Hub, emphasising how it has added significant value to their business and has developed into a long-lasting relationship with the University.
