University of Salford hosts free online session to help charities to innovate
On Tuesday 1 April 2025, the University of Salford is hosting a free online session aimed at third sector organisations wanting to find out more about how to access funding and drive forward innovation projects.
In the hour-long webinar, participants will learn about the different ways in which organisations can partner with universities to drive innovation, including through Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, collaborative research opportunities and consultancy projects.
Attendees will also have the chance to find out about the funding opportunities available to charities, CICs and non-profits from all sectors to help them to deliver potential or existing projects that will generate transformative change. This could include embedding new systems, sustainability and technologies or new product development.
During the session, participants will hear from the University of Salford’s Collaborative Research and Development Manager, Dr Alejandro Garcia-Miranda Ferrari. Guidance will also be shared on how to access Innovate UK funding. A public body working with UK Research and Innovation, Innovate UK’s mission is to provide organisations with development and support to innovate, commercialise new products, processes and services.
There will also be the opportunity to hear from a representative from Oldham Personal Advocacy, who will be sharing the charity’s experience of partnering with the University of Salford to develop a digital transformation management system to transform their operations.
Alejandro said: “Collaboration between universities and third sector organisations presents a unique opportunity to leverage research expertise, funding and innovation to drive real impact.
"The aim of the webinar is to help organisations to develop an understanding of how partnerships can unlock new possibilities, from digital transformation to sustainable development, ensuring they have the tools and resources to thrive.”
