Raymond Ada attends the Spring Meeting of the British Society for Parasitology
Raymond Ada, student at the University of Salford, attended the Spring Meeting of the British Society for Parasitology (BSP). Read on to hear how it went.
On 2nd-4th April 2024, the British Society for Parasitology opened their doors, this year in Liverpool, for their annual Spring Meeting.
The Spring Meeting brings together a vibrant community of researchers dedicated to combatting parasitic diseases in the UK and worldwide. From discovering the basic principles of parasite biology, including the latest trends in parasite research, to applied parasitology for controlling disease, the scientific sessions of the event covered the complete parasitological spectrum. In short, the Spring Meeting aims to bring the community together to discuss the latest findings in parasite biology and progress in controlling disease.
One of our students studying Parasitology, Raymond Ada, attended the meeting this year. He said:
"Attending the BSP meeting this year allowed me to talk with researchers of parasitology and ecology from lots of interesting backgrounds. The conference covered a wide range of topics, including the biology of parasites and advancements in disease prevention. The presentations on vector control techniques and the ecology of parasites in wildlife struck me as being thought-provoking. It was stimulating to network and share ideas with other researchers at poster presentations and social events. Overall, the conference offered a forum for productive idea-sharing and encourages partnerships that are essential for developing research."
The BSP Spring Meeting 2025 will take place from 11-14th March 2025 in Würzburg, Germany. You can find out more about the event on the British Society for Parasitology website.
