Celebrating out Donor-Funded scholarship recipients at Summer Graduation

Categories: University Campus

Earlier this month, we celebrated our graduating Donor-Funded scholarship recipients at our Summer Graduation 2024, held at the Lowry Theatre.

Thirteen scholars from the School of Science, Engineering and Environment, crossed the stage in their caps and gowns, in front of loved ones, friends, family, and their supporters. It was an honour to then celebrate alongside them and their generous supporters, celebrating Philanthropy in action, at the celebratory reception hosted by our Chancellor, Lucy Meacock.

The event is a highlight of the year and a wonderful opportunity to honour our Scholars and Donors. These donors have supported our Scholars throughout their academic journey, not only with financial assistance but also by providing opportunities for networking and mentoring.

Amaar Azam, a Gerry Mason Engineering Scholarship recipient said:

"It was an awesome opportunity and incredible spending time with Ged, CEO of Morson International, having a one-to-one conversation with him and hearing all the advice he gave me."

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Ged Mason (Morson International), Robin James (Temporary Works Forum), Caitrin (Alumni and Principal Consultant at Aon), and Peter Casey (Alumni and Founder of the Casey Group) for joining the reception and celebrating our scholars. We also appreciate the attendance of all academics and senior colleagues from the University.
