The University of Salford is working with Manchester Centre for Clinical Neuroscience at Salford Royal Hospital to organise the region’s first in person Epilepsy Conference since the pandemic.
The University of Salford is working with Manchester Centre for Clinical Neuroscience at Salford Royal Hospital to organise the region’s first in person Epilepsy Conference since the pandemic.
It will take place at The Old Fire Station, University of Salford on 12 April and will run from 10am to 4.20pm, booking information below.
Tickets are £25 each. It will unite some of the North West’s most experienced practitioners to share experience and discuss latest research and treatment protocols.
Its audience will be registered nurses, midwives and healthcare professionals who may or may not already be working with patients with epilepsy or who want to deepen their knowledge of the condition. Students are also welcome to attend.
Themes on the day will cover everything from treatment in pregnancy and common triggers to dual diagnosis and latest medications.
Consultant Neurologist Dr Farhat Mirza and Helen Coyle, Lead Practitioner in Epilepsy will deliver a session on Surgery and Vagus Nerve Stimulation; Carrie Burke, Epilepsy Specialist Nurse will share her findings on rescue medication and care planning; Dr Vanisha Chauhan, Consultant Neurologist will talk about medication including safe practice in pregnancy and Yvonne Russell (Epilepsy Specialist Nurse) will outline the most common issues arising on the Epilepsy Nurse Advice line.
