Associate Prof Carole Conroy appointed ADAQE in SEE School
The School of Science, Engineering and Environment is pleased to announce that Ass. Professor Carole Conroy has been appointed as Associate Dean Academic – Quality and Enhancement.
Joining Salford in 2003, Carole has held extensive roles throughout her time at the University, alongside many achievements, including being appointed Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH's highest membership level, awarded to only ~1% of the global membership).
More recently she has been the Lead for Academic Quality, Directorate of Sustainable Built & Natural Environments working collaboratively with Subject Heads to develop and implement quality enhancement, learning, and teaching strategies in the Directorate.
Carole is an experienced, prominent external examiner and validation panel member, nationally and internationally. Appointed as the SSEE representative for Senate, and serving on the Academic Regulations Sub-Committee, she has previously served on University Quality and Standards Committee, School learning, teaching, enhancement committees; teaching development groups; employability; and technology-enhanced learning working groups.
In recognition of her contribution to teaching and learning Carole received the prestigious Institute of Occupational Safety and Health President’s Distinguished Service Award in 2017, one of only a few such awarded in any one year.
Her contribution to practice in learning, teaching, and assessment, is situated in the interface of academia, professional, statutory, and regulatory bodies, and industry.
Carole said: “I am delighted to be taking on the role of ADA (Quality Assurance & Enhancement). This is an exciting time for SSEE with opportunities to build upon the innovation and success within the School and across the wider University.
