What is your teaching style at the University of Salford
Much of the teaching and learning at Salford is practical and collaborative. Our range of courses cover studies in performing, composition, studio engineering, artist management, journalism and much more, all of these disciplines working holistically together, just as you’ll find within the industry itself. We encourage our students to work together for their assignments or just for their own pursuits, whether forming bands, recording, or running events, so whichever of our music courses you join, you’re sure to work with students from across the department to learn new skills and build a network.
What music disciplines do your music faculty explore?
We have a diverse faculty of full-time teaching staff, from a range of musical backgrounds. Our lecturers specialise in performance, studio engineering, band leading, composition, musicology, music business, recording & production, music technology and sound & music for media, to list just a few disciplines. Many of our staff are also research active, looking into new music practices, emerging audio technologies, or music cultures, and frequently this new knowledge informs our teaching practices.
