Benefits of student publishing

Student journals offer a valuable early experience of academic publishing. By publishing their work in a journal, students are provided with an opportunity to develop their writing and research skills, and their future career opportunities are supported.

Students are given an insight into open access publishing and the workflows involved in managing a journal. This includes the peer review process, the use of DOIs and creative commons licences.

Our publications

We currently have two publications:

  • Bioscientist - The Salford Biomedicine Society Magazine
  • Grit - The Journal of the Northern School of Writing at Salford
