Ebook Central – an extensive collection of eBooks – providing access to than170,000 full-text books covering a wide range of subject areas. This database should be your starting point for background reading on any topic. To access the resource, click on the link and enter your Salford email address and password.

ProQuest Central - the ProQuest Central collection includes full text scholarly journals, trade journals, newspapers, dissertations, market, industry, and country reports from Economist Intelligence Unit, BMI, ISI Emerging Markets, and more. The subject areas include business, economics, accounting, finance, management, taxation, and law. To access the resource, click on the link and enter your University of Salford email address and password.

Statista – a source of global market and consumer data. It includes statistics, reports, infographics, surveys, industry and market reports, covering a variety of topics and industries. 

Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) - peer-reviewed open access journals covering a range of subject areas.

Help is also available via Skills, our online platform providing eLearning, guides and videos to help you make the most of your studies. It includes advice on referencing and plagiarism and guides to help you write your assignments. It is difficult to know where to start particularly if you haven't written an assignment for some time, so the guides take you through all the steps from planning to understanding your feedback.

Study guides on a range of topics such as writing at Masters level, time management and critical analysis are available as is a range of eLearning modules to help you with your assessments, learning and academic skills.

University repositories

University of Salford Institutional Repository (USIR) - A searchable, online database of research that has been produced by University of Salford academics. It includes a database of past exam papers, which can be accessed off-campus using your Salford network ID and password.

LSE Research online - The institutional repository for the London School of Economics and Political Science. It contains research produced by LSE staff, including journal articles, book chapters, books, working papers, conference papers and more.

When you're on campus

If your studies bring you to the campus here in Salford, you can use the library facilities, including printing and photocopying, study spaces and selected electronic resources. You can also borrow library items. Remember to bring your ID card so that you can access these services.

Issues logging in?

To increase the security of your University of Salford account your password will expire periodically – so please register for multi-factor authentication (MFA) at the earliest possible opportunity.
