Some facts relating to the photo

The image, taken in 1986, shows the Chapman Building on the left, and in the distance you can see Horlock Court student residential accommodation, which opened in 1981 and had its own bookshop, convenience shop and bank! Horlock Court was named after Professor John Horlock (1974-1981) former Vice Chancellor. The New Adelphi Building has since appeared on the left, and the Lady Hale Building has sprung up on the right. Horlock Court was demolished in 2016, once the new student accommodations were built.
