Some facts relating to the photo

These buildings were officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip Duke of Edinburgh on 21st May 1961. They originally housed the Royal College of Advanced Technology. The Main Hall, as it was then known, was designed to host performances and events including graduations. However, the Hall soon became a legendary music venue. The first recorded concert held at Maxwell Hall was Dave Berry & The Cruisers on 25th March 1964. Legendary acts, such as The Who, Paul McCartney & Wings, U2, and The Smiths, followed in their footsteps.
