Are there internships and placement options available?

We offer a wide range of placement opportunities with industry partners including BBC North West Tonight, BBC News, Sky News, ITN, ITV Granada Reports, ITV ‘Tonight', Channel 5 News, Global Radio, Hits Radio Manchester Evening News, Bolton News, Lancashire Telegraph, Manchester United, Accrington Stanley, Fleetwood Town, Salford Red Devils, Weber Shandwick, National Broadcasting Commission, Golin, JD Sports, the Scottish Parliament, the UK Government Cabinet Office, Salford City Council, Refresh PR, ICS Digital and Rebellious Fashion.

Will I get to work with the BBC and ITV?

Being located in MediaCity has its perks and we’re deeply proud of the strong working relationships we have with the BBC and ITV. This means you could get the opportunity to visit their studios, work on projects with them or help out when they sometimes use our studio facilities to produce programmes.

We also regularly have guest speakers from the media industry who often offer work experience or internships to our hardworking students.

Do you offer support to help students pay for their studies?

We offer a selection of scholarships to help you fund your postgraduate studies. Our Global Gold Excellence Scholarship is worth £3,000 and our Global Silver Excellence Scholarship is worth £2,500. Both of these scholarships are automatically deducted from your tuition fees.

We are located close to Manchester city centre which is a growing hub for creative and media businesses in the North of England. As a result, there are lots of opportunities to find part-time work in a variety of industries. We have an on-campus part-time recruitment agency, Unitemps, who can support you in finding a job within the university or at another local business. Our Careers and Enterprise team can also work with you to improve your CV and interview technique to secure a part-time job.
