When you study Dance with us, you’ll get access to industry-standard facilities in our £55 million New Adelphi building and in our new multi-purpose studio in Maxwell. The facilities are geared towards helping you harness your creativity, with everything from Dance studios spaces to the New Adelphi Theatre. Not sure how something works? Dance studios
Our industry-standard studios are where you’ll spend much of your time honing your skills in a professional environment to prepare you best to enter the world of dance.
New Adelphi Theatre
This 350-seat venue provides an opportunity for you to stage performances in front of live audiences. It also regularly hosts professional shows and performances where our students get to perform at least twice a year.
Studio theatre
This classic black-box performance space offers a more intimate venue than the New Adelphi Theatre. It features flexible seating and staging, so you can shape the area to meet your creative needs.
How accessible are your facilities?
Our rooms, buildings and spaces have been designed to cater for everyone's needs. They have disabled toilets, large lifts, large dressing rooms, and accessible entrance and exits points, so you don't need to worry about getting around.

How do I get to and view your facilities?
Our highest priority is to ensure that we’re following the government guidance to keep you safe on campus. This means that you may not have an opportunity to visit our campus; however, through our virtual tours, you could virtually visit our Peel Park campus.
When the government guidance changes and you can visit our campus you can travel to our Peel Park campus:
By rail
The University of Salford has a dedicated train station, Salford Crescent. Direct services run to and from Manchester Airport, Manchester Piccadilly and Victoria, as well as Blackpool, Bolton, Buxton, Blackburn, Southport, Preston and Lancaster.
By bus
Staff and current students can get around campus for free using the 50 bus. The number 50 runs every 10-15 minutes between East Didsbury and MediaCity via our Peel Park campus. You can also get to us by using services 8, 12, 26, 31, 32, X34, 36, 37, 38, 50, X61, 67, or 100.
By car
The New Adelphi building is located in the Peel Park Campus just off the Crescent (A6). The closest campus carpark is Irwell Place car park. There are Blue Badge spaces on campus closer to the building.
Parking is chargeable 7 days a week between the hours of 9am – 6pm. After 6pm, parking is free. Please note: all university car parks us the PayByPhone App, Irwell Place has an optional Pay and Display machine.
What are the opening hours of your Dance facilities?
Our scheduled lessons usually take place between 09:00 and 18:00 each day. We sometimes run extended days when you are working on a project or towards a performance. Outside the scheduled lessons, you can book the studios for self-practice and rehearsals.
Can your dance students book out the dance studios?
Outside of the scheduled lessons in the evenings and on Saturdays, you can book the studios for self-practice and rehearsals.
What's the impact of COVID-19 and accessing your Dance facilities?
We have been working in the dance spaces throughout Covid under university guidelines.

All our Dance courses are delivered by the Salford School of Arts, Media and Creative Technology. Our focus is to ensure that you have the skills you need to pursue your dreams, and we encourage our students, past and present, to collaborate with each other and achieve great things.
