Chemical Science Clearing Courses

Recent chemistry students have undertaken placements at our on-campus research charity, Kidscan, as well as external organisations, such as the Respiratory Physiology Unit at the Royal Aintree Hospital in Liverpool, AstraZeneca in Cheshire, the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute, and the Hochschule in Bremen, North Germany.

On this pharmaceutical science course, you’ll have the option to take an industry placement between years two and three. Recent pharmaceutical science students have been offered placements at Pfizer in Kent, the Transplant Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital, and the Cancer Research UK Manchester Institute.

Our BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Science with Foundation Year is recommended if you want to develop your career in biosciences but have a non-scientific background, or you don’t meet the entry requirements for direct entry to an honours degree. 

The full BSc (Hons) Pharmaceutical Science degree is accredited by the Royal Society of Biology. Once you have successfully completed your foundation year and progress onto the full degree, you will build your academic knowledge and skills to join the next generation of scientists who design drugs that improve quality of life and can tackle pandemics and diseases.
