We chose to work with the University of Salford for our apprenticeship programmes based on their reputation, location and achievement rates within apprenticeships.

Apprenticeships are an excellent opportunity to ‘grow your own’ in terms of staff development, some of whom otherwise would have been unable to support funding themselves through a training course. Apprentices are seen to be learning more on the job and very much embedded as part of the wider clinical team.

The support from Salford has been excellent on all programmes with joint working. Utilising tripartite meetings and the wider Greater Manchester meetings taking place for discussion for all to be involved in the programme.

We would recommend the University of Salford to other employers and have already done so in the gifting of our levy to smaller organisations such as GP services to apply for apprenticeships at Salford.
