We offer a range of language courses to anyone who wishes to develop their language in a friendly, supportive environment.

We are passionate

All our language classes are centred around our students and have been designed to develop

practical language skills.

Each course will run from September to May. Each week you will attend a two-hour class to help progress and consolidate your learning around the four core skills of listening, reading, speaking and writing.

You will learn with students and members of staff from the University. Together you will work towards achieving learning outcomes, gaining a range of transferable skills such as focused listening, team work and cultural appreciation.

Where to start

Our courses range from beginner to B1 standard as per the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR). Where you start will depend on what experience you already have of learning your chosen language. Generally, even if you last studied the language a long time ago, you should join the Stage that matches any qualifications you have.

Stage 2 Lower intermediate A1+, Grade A*-C at GCSE (or equivalent), or a pass at Stage 1
