Depositing research into USIR
The University of Salford Institutional Repository (USIR) is a store of all research outputs produced by University of Salford staff and postgraduate researchers. All staff and postgraduate researchers should place their research outputs in USIR via Worktribe. Instructions and more information can be found on the Academic Profiles & Research Information System (APRIS) staff hub pages and the Doctoral School Hub pages. By depositing in USIR via Worktribe you are agreeing to the USIR deposit agreement.
The University of Salford Open Access Policy, requires that articles and conference contributions in conference proceedings with an International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) must be deposited into USIR. This must happen at the point of acceptance for publication, and no later than three months after that date. For support with open access and depositing in USIR email Library-research@salford.ac.uk.
Depositing your thesis in USIR
The University of Salford requires that an electronic copy of all new research theses are deposited in the University of Salford's Institutional Repository (USIR) via Worktribe with a Creative Commons licence. See Theses for guidance or email Library-research@salford.ac.uk for support.
Creating an academic profile in Worktribe
The content of your Worktribe profile can be visible via the University of Salford's staff pages, providing you have made your profile discoverable. A discoverable profile will also be visible on the USIR. To access and update your profile, visit Worktribe, navigate to the Profiles tab, select My Profile and populate the details in the Details tab. Guidance on developing your profile can be found on the Academic Profiles & Research Information System (APRIS) staff hub pages and the Doctoral School Hub pages.
USIR Deposit Agreement
The University of Salford Institutional Repository (USIR) supports the long term preservation of, and free access to, research material produced by members of the University of Salford. To undertake this role, USIR staff need permission to store, copy and manipulate the material held in USIR in order to ensure that it can be preserved and made available in the future.
The USIR Deposit Agreement is designed to give USIR administrators the right to do this and to confirm that the depositor has the right to submit the material to USIR. The Agreement is non-exclusive, and the depositor does not give away any of their rights to USIR.
