E-resource help

If you’re having trouble accessing online library resources, you may be able to fix the problem by going through a few simple steps.

Help us out by carrying out the following checks. If you’re still having access issues, please get in touch with us – instructions on contacting us are at the bottom of this page.

  1. Please make sure you are trying to access the resource via Library Search. If you are having difficulty finding the resource on here, please let us know and we can assist.

  2. Check your login: Ensure you are using your University credentials to log in. Double-check for any typing errors.

  3. Clear browser cache and cookies: We find that this is the most common solution to fixing access problems. Please note that clearing cache and cookies may delete any passwords you have saved in your browser. For more information about how to do this, see: Chrome, Edge, Firefox.

  4. Try a different browser: Some databases work better on specific browsers. Please try accessing the database using an alternative browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox, Safari).

  5. Ensure browser is updated: Make sure your browser is up to date with the latest version. For more information, see: Chrome, Edge, Firefox.
  6. Check network restrictions: If you are using a public network, there might be restrictions. Try accessing from a different network if possible.

If you are from a Partner Institution, you may have different access set up. For more information, please find your relevant institution.

If you have tried all of these steps and are still facing difficulties, please contact us via this form or email us at library-eresources@salford.ac.uk.
